For this project I used a personal memory from my childhood. My sisters and I would jump out of our window and run through the woods and eat oranges. I lived in the middle of the woods in Florida. Florida is known as the sunshine state, so I made the sun a giant slice of an orange. The rays are orange tree leaves. For the moon I did a simple pattern. The colors represent mine and my sister's favorite colors. My favorite color is green, Brittany's favorite color is red, and Kendra's favorite color is blue. I wrapped the design around the side of the moon. I made the entire thing out of styrofoam. I attached the leaves and the moon to the sun with toothpicks and a little bit of elmer's glue. I really like how this project turned out. It had a lot of meaning to me. You won't get the memory by the piece, but it's still appealing to the eye.
