For this project we had to write a letter that nobody would read. It was optional to let others read your letter. Then you had to somehow represent the main idea of your letter. I wrote my letter to my biological father who died 2 months before I was born. I allowed Mr. Varney to read my letter so that he could help me properly execute my idea. I decided to recreate my father's headstone. I made it out of wood. Then I carved out the letters and the cross. I used black and white paint for the letters to make them pop and able to read. It looks just like his headstone as far as the words go. I made a silhouette of a child sitting in front of the headstone. Then I made origami lilies to put on the headstone as the flower arrangement. In order to incorporate my letter I put in on the headstone in an envelope. I put lemon juice on the envelope and used the heat gun to make it look kinda old. I really liked how this project turned out. It looks even better than I imagined it would. It's definitely one of my best pieces.
